Main Purpose of the Role

Our aim is to provide child‑centred Early Learning and Childcare (aged 2‑5 years) which reflects and responds to individual needs and identity.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of high quality learning and development as part of the early learning and childcare management team.
* Lead on supporting children who face the greatest disadvantages and reinforce the ambition to close the attainment gap.
* Assist in the management of the service for the benefit of all children, families and the wider community.
* Provide support to other identified settings if required, while based predominantly at Rattray.
Qualifications & Experience
* Knowledge of and support the implementation of Raising Attainment Strategy.
* Excellent communication skills and experience delivering and developing literacy, numeracy, health and wellbeing curriculum to improve children's attainment.
* Experience improving confidence, skills, knowledge and pedagogical practice of practitioners and increasing parental engagement in child‑family learning.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, contributing to and supporting colleagues in development of a flexible childcare and early education service appropriate to the needs of young children and their families.
* Relevant experience in a range of early years settings and qualification to degree level – BA Childhood Practice (or equivalent), SVQ 3 Social Service (Children and Young People), HNC in Childcare, NNEB, or equivalent qualification.
* Must be able to register as a Lead Practitioner with SSSC within 6 months of appointment and adhere to all elements of the SSSC Employee Codes of Practice and Perth and Kinross employee standards.

Registration Requirement
This role requires you to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). If you are not yet registered, you can still apply, as long as you are willing to apply for registration within 3 months of starting with us and be registered within 6 months.
