Todeliver high quality care for patients undergoing Vasectomy surgery under localanaesthetic, in a Community setting. Working from 2 locations, Norwich and Great Yarmouth and travelling to each sites will beessential. Actively participate inpreparing patients, act as scrub nurse to the Urologist and then discharging the patient.Ensure efficient use of stock and report backany deficiencies.
Main duties of the job
Is responsible for the assessment, planning andimplementation of care and assists in the interpretation of data relevant tothe patients condition and progress
Gives skilled care to patients and provides supportto their carers
Safe management of drugs and treatments asprescribed according to the NMC/ HCPC guidelines for the Safe and SecureHandling of Medicines
To be an effective member of the operating theatreteam.
To participate in the assessment of patientssuitability for day surgery and communicate information gained through thisrole.
Provides assistance to surgeons in the form of the dualrole i.e. scrub and first assistance when necessary and under guidance fromsenior medical staff.

Job responsibilities
To organise time, equipment andstaff to deliver nursing care.
Delegate and assign activities andtasks appropriately.
To act as an advocate for thepatient/client ensuring the provision of appropriate information and supportservices.
To identify incidences of concernto either patients or staff and deal effectively with the consequences,completing appropriate documentation
To develop in conjunction withother team members and the manager, new ideas to improve the quality of careand to encourage contribution of other members of the team
To participate fully as a teammember, sharing knowledge, information and supporting colleagues to promote acohesive team
To be aware of unit resourceissues and participate in unit stock control
To carry our pre and post clinicset up checks.

Qualifications
* NMC Registered Nurse or ODP
* Experience working as a Scrub Nurse
Knowledge and skills
* Experience working in theatre settings or day surgery.
* Full driving license (UK)
* Access to own vehicle
* Right to work in UK
