We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Finance Officer to join our team. This is a hands-on role covering both sales and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, and supporting cash flow management. You'll work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our finance function.
This position is full-time and based at our Worksop Head Office. It is not a hybrid or work-from-home role.
Key responsibilities
* Processing supplier invoices, checking for accuracy, and raising purchase orders where required
* Issuing customer invoices and chasing overdue accounts
* Reconciling bank accounts across multiple entities and investigating discrepancies
* Preparing and processing weekly payment runs, BACS refunds, payroll journals, and VAT returns
* Managing customer and supplier set-up in Xero and internal systems
* Handling reconciliations (intercompany, month-end, cash position)
* Importing and checking invoices from portals (e.g. Amazon, Parcelhub, agency partners)
* Supporting cash flow forecasting and daily cash monitoring
* Acting as first point of contact for finance queries via shared mailboxes
* Supporting contract renewals (utilities, insurance, credit cover)
* General finance administration and ad hoc tasks to support smooth running of the department
About you
* Solid finance/accounts experience (bookkeeping, Finance Assistant, or similar)
* Confident with Xero - Essential
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Comfortable handling multiple ledgers and reconciling accounts
* Reliable and able to work independently in a busy SME environment
