Role Overview The SENCO will oversee the strategic and operational management of the school’s SEND provision. This is a leadership-level support role that requires strong organisational skills, deep knowledge of SEND legislation, and a collaborative approach to working with staff and families. Key responsibilities include: Leading the development and implementation of the school’s SEND policy Managing and reviewing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Coordinating interventions for students with SEND Working closely with teachers to ensure high-quality differentiated provision Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals Overseeing the work of teaching assistants and intervention staff Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice Monitoring the progress of students with additional needs Delivering staff training on inclusive practice Managing SEND budgets and resources effectively Contributing to safeguarding and pastoral meetings This role requires strong leadership, the ability to influence whole-school practice, and a commitment to ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed. SEND Team Information The SENCO will lead a team of experienced teaching assistants and intervention staff.
