SF Engineering are recruiting for a Health, safety and environmental Manager to join our established manufacturing business, this is a 6 month fixed term contract with the potential to be extended.
The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager is a dedicated role within the operations team to promote and maintain the HSE culture and performance within the company. The role will monitor HSE information and metrics, assess risk, consult and advise on HSE issues drawing on best practice professionalism, contribute to improvement projects and raise HSE non-compliances.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
▸ Provide day to day support, guidance and advice to the management team as the business's professional on Health, Safety and Environmental Matters
▸ Develop and maintain risk assessments for all necessary working operations, activities and machines.
▸ Engage will all operations staff from shop floor to management to promote and improve HSE behaviours and culture
▸ Maintain incident reporting & actions system, coordinate any related incident investigations and complete and submit RIDDOR reporting if necessary
▸ Maintain the H&S management system covering incident reporting & resolving, HSE documentation, audit schedules and risk assessments
▸ Maintain training records to ensure that all staff have necessary training to fulfil practical and legislative requirements and advise on appropriate courses.
▸ Ensure occupational health activities are carried out in conjunction with HR department
▸ Support business HSE improvement initiatives
▸ Support the business on any environmental requirements and improvements on it's journey towards ISO14001
▸ Manage the COSHH System
▸ Coordinate and maintain the H&S meetings schedule
MANDATORY RESPONSIBILITIES

▸ Working in accordance to the company health and safety policy to take reasonable care for their own and colleagues health and safety.
▸ Refrain from intentionally misusing or recklessly interfering with anything that has been provided for health and safety reasons.
▸ Adhere to the Company's H&S requirements (ie risk assessments, work instructions and through training).
▸ Work in accordance with information and training provided, and not undertake any task for which authorisation and / or training has not been given
