What You’ll Do
You’ll play a vital part in ensuring our plant and equipment are running safely and effectively. Your responsibilities include:
1. Ensure that all mobile and static plant on site is maintained and repaired, providing recommendations for increasing plant efficiency and cost effectiveness.
2. Develop a PPM system for all mechanical equipment on site
3. Manage external contractor repairs and planned maintenance work on site, arrange and monitor, in relation to quality, and safety.
4. Carry out and record any routine maintenance on all plant and equipment.
5. Undertake minor fabrications and welding repairs
6. Act as main point of contact to external service providers, as well as appointed building, maintenance and engineering contractors and industrial cleaners.
7. Support the planning, installation and commissioning of any new equipment.
8. Ensure that all maintenance and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents or accidents and hazards are duly reported.
9. Assist in the planning and alterations and development to any infrastructure on site.
10. Ensure the maintenance workshop and stores are kept in a clean and tidy condition and to contribute an acceptable level of housekeeping on the site.
11. Assist when required in relevant maintenance work at other Timberpak locations particularly Washington.
12. Liaise with the Site Manager as to the condition of the mechanical and electrical equipment or related production problems.
What We’re Looking For
13. Minimum NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
14. Previous experience as a Plant Fitter or similar mechanical role
15. Strong knowledge of plant machinery maintenance and repair
16. Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
17. Good attention to detail and commitment to safety
18. Supervisory experience or experience of managing external contractors.
19. Experience of maintaining conveyors, 306 Grabs, loading buckets
20. Experience of shredders would be advantageous
21. Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
22. Intermediate standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
23. Good communication skills.
