The OpportunityA leading national law firm is seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its highly regarded Real Estate Finance team in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity to combine the technical expertise of finance law with the commercial focus of real estate transactions. The successful candidate will advise major UK and international banks, institutional lenders, developers, and investors on high-value, property-backed lending deals - ranging from large-scale developments to complex investment portfolios.
The role offers exposure to high-quality work and the chance to collaborate with colleagues in banking, corporate, tax, and real estate on transactions that often have cross-border elements. You will be joining a supportive team committed to professional development and long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan agreements, security documentation, and ancillary finance documents.
* Advising lenders and borrowers on property-backed financing arrangements.
* Supporting senior lawyers in managing transactions from instruction to completion.
* Liaising with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of matters.
* Assisting with business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships.
About You
* NQ Solicitor or up to 1 year PQE, with experience in real estate finance, banking & finance, or commercial real estate (training contract seat considered).
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and organisational skills.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to understand client objectives.
* A collaborative and proactive approach to working within a team.
