Job Description
Contribute as part of a team to provide a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-8 years and their families. Work in accordance with the principles of the national care standards for early education and childcare, and abide by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.
Requirements
The duties involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
Successful applicants will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member for Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, or if already a member, undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update, before a formal offer of employment is made by East Ayrshire Council.
PVG records are regularly updated. Any relevant information disclosed will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

The Individual
This is a temporary, part-time, term-time position based at Galston Early Childhood Centre.
The hours are 17.5 per week, working on Monday, Tuesday, and every alternate Wednesday from 8:45 am to 4:15 pm.
The full-time salary ranges from £31,377 to £33,579 per annum. The part-time, term-time salary ranges from £13,455 to £14,400 per annum.
