About The Role
In your role as an Activities Co‑ordinator at HC‑One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. As an Activities Co‑ordinator it will mean planning and implementing a range of activities that delight our residents, organising essential fundraising events, and supporting the home manager in creating a lively and engaging environment. You will also help residents to socialise more effectively, develop new activity ideas based on their hobbies, and involve the rest of the care home team with a sense of kindness above all else.
We are looking for someone with a background working with vulnerable individuals, ideally with experience in activity programme development. Beyond that, we value brilliant, positive energy and a natural ability to get along with people. You should have excellent planning, organisational and IT skills and the ability to manage your time effectively. Wherever you communicate with a resident or co‑worker, you will demonstrate genuine consideration and kindness.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you can recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect in its various forms and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in related areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalating if action is not taken.
