We are expanding our team and looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Roastery Production and Barista to help support our growing operations. Role Overview As a Roastery Production and Barista, you will play a vital role in supporting daily operations in our roastery and assisting with the fulfilment and delivery of wholesale orders. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for specialty coffee. Key Responsibilities Roastery Production: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the roastery space Label and batch coffee for retail and orders – for both internal and wholesale fulfilment Green stock organisation Wholesale Support: Assist with order preparation, packing, and logistics Provide ongoing support and training to external wholesale clients Maintain an excellent rapport with key wholesale accounts Coordinate and fulfil deliveries to wholesale clients Communicate with the team to ensure timely order dispatch Maintain accurate records of outgoing wholesale orders General Duties: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all customers feel welcome and valued. Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including expertly crafted coffee-based drinks. Operate espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment with precision. Assist customers with menu choices and offer recommendations on our baked goods. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all front-of-house areas, including counters, tables, and equipment. Process transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Assist with stock management, including restocking display cases and ensuring freshness of products. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient service. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations. Carry out weekly maintenance checks/processes on all roastery equipment Represent The Milk Shed’s values with professionalism and enthusiasm Skills & Experience: Essential: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks and lifting Excellent time management and organisational skills Reliable, punctual, and a good team player Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment Preferred: Previous experience in a coffee roastery, café, or warehouse Interest in or knowledge of specialty coffee
