The Collections Supervisor will oversee and control the operational activities of the depot, maintain company and legislative records, and support the workforce in achieving their daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery within contract requirements.

Biffa’s household waste division offers cost-effective, quality-led waste management services for 31 local authorities across the UK. With over 3,300 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste division makes millions of collections each week from numerous households across Britain.

* Work alongside like-minded waste professionals in a diverse environment built on transparency.
* Monitor workforce performance against KPIs, implement action plans, and address variances and ongoing issues.
* Ensure understanding and adherence to company policies, procedures, and legal obligations.
* Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and internal/external customers.
* Attend client/customer meetings, deliver reports on time, and follow up on actions.
* Maintain records and systems for effective and compliant contract operation, including EA compliance.
* Conduct regular induction and safety training for staff.
* Ensure safety checks are performed and repairs are completed promptly.
* Manage staffing levels and holidays to meet business needs.
* Submit accurate and timely attendance records for operational staff.
Requirements
Here’s what we require:
* Experience in report production and analysis using Microsoft Office and internal IT systems.
* Ability to operate in a commercially driven and time-critical environment.
* Experience in people management and health and safety within a unionized, multi-shift environment.
* Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; A-Levels or a Degree are advantageous.
* Proven track record of meeting service delivery KPIs.
* Experience with vehicle management, including CPC, tachographs, and Road Transport Directive.
* Proven ability to deliver continuous improvement in operational/service environments.
