Summary
We’re looking for a Campsite Assistant to work in Low Wray Campsite. This role is all about making sure that people have their best possible experience of an outdoor holiday with the National Trust.
Hours: 37.5 hours a week (full time). 4 x 8 hour days and 1 x 5.5 hour day, followed by two days off. Working days to be confirmed but could be any day Monday- Sunday. Weekend and bank holiday working required.
Shifts will be from 7am at the earliest until 8:30pm at the latest, with staff starting at staggered times throughout the morning. Shift times will vary throughout the season depending on how busy the site is.
Duration: Fixed Term Contract from 2 March until 1 November 2026
Salary: £12.75 an hour
Interview date: w/c Monday 19th January
Accommodation is provided to the postholder for the proper or better performance of their duties in accordance with Trust criteria and HMRC rules.
Internally, within the National Trust, you'll be known as an ‘Outdoors Holidays Operations Assistant’.

What you'll be doing
You’ll help to keep the campsite and bunkhouse clean, well-maintained and welcoming for all guests. This includes practical tasks like cleaning and basic maintenance, reporting any repairs needed and generally being a friendly contact for everyone staying here.
You’ll be greeting people, helping with their bookings and dealing helpfully with their enquiries or complaints. You’ll also help to run the campsite shop when needed. Everything you do day-to-day will make a big difference to someone’s holiday, and help to make things run smoothly and to the standard that guests expect from the National Trust.
