Information Security Specialist – Central Belt, Scotland
Location: Central Belt (Hybrid working available)
Are you ready to take on a hands-on role protecting business-critical systems and data from evolving cyber threats? We’re seeking a technically skilled Information Security Specialist to join our team and lead the implementation and operation of essential security controls that underpin our enterprise infrastructure.
This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your deep technical knowledge in a complex and varied environment, supporting business-wide initiatives while developing and maturing our security posture.
1. Deliver technical expertise for the implementation and ongoing operation of information security technologies, ensuring controls meet business and compliance standards
2. Provide in-depth technical support for the identification, investigation, and resolution of security vulnerabilities and threats
3. Work with internal support teams to advise and guide vulnerability remediation, improving organisational resilience
4. Collaborate with the Group and the Information Security Leader to support key security processes and contribute to security objectives
5. Create and maintain technical documentation detailing configuration standards, deployment procedures, and operational parameters for security solutions
6. Participate in team meetings, contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement of security operations
7. Develop a working knowledge of the company's applications, infrastructure, and tools to enhance security coverage and process integration
8. Liaise with third-party vendors (e.g., Forcepoint, Microsoft) to troubleshoot complex security issues and ensure interoperability of technical solutions
9. Provide technical leadership during security incidents and investigations, ensuring timely response, mitigation, and lessons learned
10. Maintain a strong background in technical information security, focusing on security controls, system hardening, and vulnerability management
11. Demonstrate experience managing and operating enterprise-grade security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, identity & access management)
12. Familiarity with Microsoft security technologies and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
13. Understanding of key security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks)
14. Ability to analyze technical threats and drive prompt, effective resolution
15. Excellent documentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly
16. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Microsoft Security certifications are advantageous
