Building Physics / Sustainability Consultant
Location: London
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)
An innovative and multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in Acoustic Design, Fire Engineering, and Building Surveying is seeking an experienced Building Physics / Sustainability Consultant to join their growing team in London. With a diverse portfolio spanning both UK and international markets, the firm is committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions across the built environment.
Role Overview:
As a key member of the team, you’ll take ownership of sustainability and energy modelling tasks, support project delivery, and help drive innovation within the consultancy. This is a great opportunity to work across a range of sectors, collaborating closely with leading architects, engineers, and developers.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct SAP assessments, DSM energy modelling, and overheating analysis (CIBSE TM59)
Lead and manage sustainability and building physics projects independently
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Provide sustainability and energy performance input during design reviews and team meetings
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including MEP, structural engineers, and architects
Support in expanding sustainability services and contributing to business growthAbout You:
Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Design, Building Services, or a related discipline
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a building physics or sustainability consultancy role
Strong working knowledge of SAP, IESVE, and DSM energy modelling software
Proficient in Elmhurst software for SAP assessments
Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations (including Part L and Part O) and sustainability standards such as BREEAM and NABERS
Knowledge of UK planning policy and construction processes
Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to clients and stakeholdersWhat’s On Offer:
