Who We’re Looking For
Highways and Engineering Services is seeking a driven and highly organised individual with exceptional communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to join the team as an Apprentice Civil Engineering Technician.
The role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a wide variety of civil engineering disciplines, including appraisal, design, construction, supervision, and project management of projects related to tips safety, drainage, ground stability, contaminated land, transportation, traffic management, highway and parks structures, and other highway-related projects and maintenance.
It is essential that applicants have a commitment to, and an interest in, civil engineering, environmental, and municipal engineering.
Entry Requirements
The applicant must possess 5 GCSE’s at A-C grade, including Maths, English, and a Science-based subject or equivalent, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
What Will You Study?
All Apprentices will be supported to complete a qualification in Construction & the Built Environment, Level 3, via a local college.
What will you be paid?
This is a fixed-term post for a two-year period starting in September. You will be paid the National Minimum Wage dependent on age:
* 21 & over £12.21
* 18 - 20 £10.00
* Under 18 £7.55

Due to the Apprenticeship entry criteria, applications cannot be accepted from applicants who have already gained a similar qualification at level 3 or above in the role applied for.
For example, if you have a degree in Civil Engineering, you will not be eligible to apply for a Civil Engineering apprenticeship post. However, you could apply for other apprenticeship posts. Such applications will not be considered.
