Mechanical Design Engineer - Stockton-on-Tees - Up to £50,000 + Excellent Benefits
Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a role where you can make a real impact? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team working on complex heavy industry projects at their Stockton-on-Tees HQ. You will be involved in designing piping systems, tanks, pressure vessels and skid-mounted equipment for challenging environments.
What you will be doing as Mechanical Design Engineer
* Produce detailed design documentation including P&IDs, schematics, Bills of Materials and calculations
* Design and develop piping layouts, valves, pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and skid-mounted systems
* Create and contribute to 3D models using advanced CAD tools to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions
* Act as the technical lead for mechanical design aspects of projects ensuring compliance with standards and successful delivery
* Participate in Design and Safety Reviews, Risk Assessments and ensure all statutory obligations are met
* Provide technical support during manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning phases
What we are looking for in a Mechanical Design Engineer
* Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
* Strong experience in mechanical design for piping systems, tanks, vessels and skids
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD packages (Inventor, CADWorx or Siemens NX desirable)
* Good understanding of P&IDs, Piping Systems and heavy and/or process industry turnkey projects
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and design standards
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
