Opus People Solutions are delighted to recruit on behalf of Vertas Group for an experienced temporary Cook based at a school. The role involves catering for approximately 150 meals per day (supported by two Food Service Assistants) and ensuring that services are delivered to a high standard, policies and procedures are followed, and weekly menus are prepared. Main Duties: Supervise the kitchen, including monitoring hygiene standards, staff training, and day-to-day operations. Lead or assist the team in preparing, cooking, and serving meals. Handle administrative tasks such as placing orders, stock control, and monitoring food budgets. Check and record the quantity, price, and condition of all deliveries, taking any necessary action. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and ensure sufficient stock of cleaning materials.
