Positioned within the commercial team, you will be right in the centre of a fast paced team. The Assistant Buyer role will support the Buyer/Senior Buyer to bring the most compelling range and great value products to our customers.
As an Assistant Buyer, you'll get to kick start your buying career in this fast-paced role. You will support the Senior Buyer across a wide range of exciting products within Small Kitchen Appliances and work with major suppliers such as Tefal, De'Longhi, Philips and Bosch.
To support your development, you'll have the opportunity to complete a Level 4 apprenticeship Buying & Merchandising! You'll be able to start your apprenticeship after 3 months of joining the team (subject to eligibility).
Key Responsibilities: Helping to manage supplier relationships in line with the category strategy
Selecting and negotiating product ranges and pricing
Keeping tabs on the competition so we can set competitive prices
Analysing trading performance and recommending actions to drive our business
Support the Senior Buyer in negotiating product ranges - cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, stock availability
Pricing the product range in line with agreed category CPI targets
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience of being part of a buying function preferable not essential
Great working knowledge of technical products
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
To be organised, analytical and numerate with good judgment
Strong commercial awareness and a sense of customer needs
