Job Summary
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an aspiring apprentice to join our organization and undertake a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, gaining invaluable exposure to manufacturing industry operations and roles.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will assume the role of Applications Engineer within the eMobility team.
Throughout the apprenticeship and upon qualification, the successful candidate will work closely with account management and external sales teams to provide technical support and guidance from initial contact to vehicle commissioning, supporting the specification and integration of electrified air compressor solutions.
You will be hands-on and customer-focused, communicating directly with internal and external stakeholders, developing strong communication skills supported by technical knowledge and industry expertise.
Supported by the senior applications engineer, you will develop engineering skills such as analyzing engineering drawings and manufacturing data to identify solutions for our customers and ensure the robust and reliable operation of our products.
Responsibilities
* Gather and analyze customer systems requirements, both mechanical and electronic.
* Support the specification of the correct compressor solution and provide technical recommendations to the customer and sales team.
* Provide technical support and guidance during compressor integration.
* Support software integration and customer understanding of compressor control.
* Support customer-specific requirements and act as liaison between the customer and internal development team.
* Support field technical issues by identifying root causes and resolving them.
* Gain practical experience and knowledge of our E-Mobility product range through training and on-the-job learning.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and support staff to deliver effective solutions.
Training Provided
As part of the apprenticeship, the candidate will achieve the following qualifications:
* Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (Foundation Competence)
* Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (Foundation Knowledge)
* Level 2 Award Foundation Gateway Assessment
* Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Engineering (Developmental Competence/NVQ)
Support will be provided by your apprentice supervisor, line manager, and wider team to aid your development.
Basic Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs including:
o English (Grades 9-5)
o Maths (Grades 9-5)
o Science or equivalent
Travel & Work Arrangements
* Site based in Redditch, UK
* 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday
* Some international travel during the apprenticeship and role.
