Role Purpose
The Head of Finance Technology is accountable for the technology strategy, delivery, and ongoing optimisation of Finance systems, with Oracle ERP at the core. The role bridges Finance, Technology, and the wider business to ensure that finance platforms enable accurate reporting, strong controls, automation, scalability, and insight-led decision making.
This role owns the end-to-end Oracle Finance technology landscape, including system design, transformation, governance, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Finance Technology Strategy & Leadership
1. Define and own the Finance Technology strategy and roadmap, aligned to business strategy and Finance priorities
2. Act as the senior Oracle ERP authority across Finance, IT, and Transformation functions
3. Lead and develop a high-performing Finance Technology team (internal and partners)
4. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and Finance Leadership Team on digital enablement
Oracle ERP and Finance Technology Ownership
5. Own the Oracle ERP Finance platform, including:
6. General Ledger
7. Accounts Payable & Receivable & Fixed Assets
8. Cash Management, Expenses, Procurement (P2P) integration, Revenue Management
9. Lead Oracle upgrades, releases, and new module implementations
10. Drive standardisation and best practice adoption across Finance processes
11. Ownership for all other Finance technology and SRM
Transformation & Change Delivery
12. Act as the Technical Finance Lead across all system transformation programmes (, migrations, or optimisations)
13. Partner with Finance Process Owners to simplify, automate, and digitise processes
14. Ensure robust change management, training, and adoption across Finance teams
15. Manage system integrators and third-party vendors
Governance, Risk & Controls
16. Ensure Finance systems support strong financial controls, compliance, and audit requirements
17. Own system governance including access controls, segregation of duties, and data quality
18. Act as primary technology liaison for Internal Audit and External Auditors where required
Data, Reporting & Insight
19. Ensure Oracle ERP supports accurate, timely, and trusted financial data
20. Partner with Finance Analytics and BI teams to enable management reporting and forecasting
21. Drive integration between Oracle ERP and EPM, data warehouses, and downstream systems
Stakeholder Management
22. Act as the key interface between Finance, IT, HR, Procurement, and Operations
23. Translate Finance requirements into technical solutions and vice versa
24. Influence senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities effectively
