Overview
West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership offer opportunities for newly qualified and experienced social workers to join our Children and Families Social Work Teams. Post 1 - 35 hours, Permanent. Post 2 - 35 hours, Fixed Term for 6 months to 16/12/2025.
The service is redesigning to meet the demands and complexities of the current context within which social work provides services. Staff will be supported to develop their skills and expertise in child care, with training opportunities available within a structured supervision and skills development framework.
Newly qualified social workers (NQSW) will benefit from internal induction and the SSSC first supported year, with observational, mentoring and experiential opportunities. In addition, there is potential start pending qualification, moving to a social work post on gaining confirmation of your social work degree.

Requirements
This post is considered a Regulated Role with Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
