The Role
We are recruiting for an MI Analytics & Reporting Manager to join the Central Services Optimisation Unit (OU), which is responsible for driving Central Services continuous improvement and optimisation of enabling services. This role helps drive and embed change and performance improvements across Central Services. The Optimisation Unit reports to the Optimisation Director and is part of the Central Operations function, responsible for creating safe, sustainable and collaborative environments to enable the Bank's mission. The team delivers value-for-money solutions through strong supplier management and customer service.
You will work alongside the Analytics team lead and the Data Hub Lead to deliver accurate, timely and insightful MI and Analytics across Central Services. You will lead a team of Analysts, Senior Analysts and Data Scientists, ensuring outputs meet business needs and inform strategic and operational decisions. You will shape how business data is used and managed across Central Services, embedding a strong data culture through training, advocacy and adoption of best practices.
Role Description
Key accountabilities are to:
* Lead Snr Analysts, Analysts and Scientists, providing direction, coaching and professional development
* Own delivery of MI, dashboards and analytics that are accurate, timely and actionable
* Translate business requirements into clear analytical outputs that inform decision-making
* Drive adoption of hub-and-spoke analytics models, ensuring collaboration between Spokes and SMRs
* Partner with technology to deliver scalable BI solutions and ensure data pipelines and infrastructure are well managed
* Champion a data-driven culture in CS by providing training on analytics and BI for the analytics team and wider CS colleagues
* Introduce and embed best practices in data analysis, visualization and reporting to ensure consistency and quality
* Stay up to date with advances in analytics and apply new methods to improve insight delivery and team capability
* Support building integrations/connectors with the Enterprise data platform from CS source systems
* Maintain and manage data registers, metadata catalogue and governance frameworks
Role Requirements
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience in leading analytics, MI or BI teams
* Expertise in BI/MI tools (e.g., Power BI) and experience developing scalable reporting solutions
* Strong ability to translate business problems into data and analytical solutions
* Experience in training and building analytics competency for people and teams
* Strong programming skills in Python, R and SQL
* Demonstrated ability to coach and develop teams and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain analytical insights to non-technical audiences
* Certification in Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or similar
* Familiarity with other MI tools such as Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) or Tableau
* Experience in a partnering/federated analytics model
* Familiarity with cloud-based solutions (e.g., MS Fabric, Snowflake, Google BigQuery)
* Experience in AI solutions and emerging technologies
* Experience in project management in complex business programmes and projects
Desirable Criteria
* Additional certifications or experience with BI/analytic tools beyond Power BI
* Experience of working within a partnering model or federated analytics structure
* Additional cloud/AI capabilities relevant to analytics projects
People management
This is a people management role. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the team, defining roles and responsibilities, and developing your team through coaching and clear vision. You will set goals aligned to the team, division and directorate, and manage performance, absence and sickness as required. Number of direct reports: 3–4.
Salary and Benefits
This role offers a salary of:
* Leeds: £65,440 – £73,620
* London: £72,720 – £81,810
Benefits include a non-contributory career-average pension (with options to adjust accrual), a discretionary performance award, an 8% benefits allowance, and 26 days’ annual leave (with optional buy of up to 12 days). Private medical insurance and income protection are also included.

Employment in this role is subject to National Security Vetting clearance and Bank security checks. The Bank is an approved sponsor under UK immigration rules; sponsorship eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
