Responsibilities
* Support residents to gather and compile the necessary documents and undertake financial assessments to progress applications for funded home adaptations.
* Visit residents in their homes to assist with the Disabled Facilities Grants process and ensure timely progression of funding.
* Contribute to a service that enables disabled and older residents to live safely and independently in their own homes, by providing advice, assistance, and support to those needing adaptations.
* Engage with residents to understand their views, wishes and needs, and support them through the home adaptation design process.
We aspire to provide a home improvement agency style service with a single point of contact for each customer, taking account of residents’ views and needs in line with national policies and professional guidelines.
Essential requirements
* Experience of delivering Disabled Facilities Grants or other grant programmes and managing a caseload
* A good understanding of the requirements of disabled people in relation to access to and around the home
* Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively
* Good IT skills
* Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
* Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
