Are you a Geo-environmental Engineer looking to grow your career with a company that invests in your development? Igne is hiring.
We're looking for a motivated engineer to join our Geo-environmental Division in Walsall. This is a varied, hands-on role involving travel across the UK to deliver site investigations, contaminated land assessments, geotechnical reporting, and remediation projects.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing preliminary risk assessments and contaminated land appraisals
- Supervising and managing ground investigations—trial pitting, soil and water sampling, gas monitoring, and logging to British Standards and Eurocodes
- Interpreting soil and rock stratigraphy for foundation design, earthworks, and pavement design
- Supporting specialist geological projects including quarry high wall assessments and mineral stability investigations
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project delivery
What we're looking for
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Practical experience with ground investigation and laboratory testing techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential—travel required)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
