Scantec FMCG Recruitment is partnering with a reputable Food Manufacturing business in Manchester to find a Senior Quality Auditor. This site is located in Northern Manchester and is part of a successful national food group. The role is newly defined within the site and offers excellent opportunities for professional development and involvement in site/group projects.
Role Purpose:
This role involves auditing all quality-related activities, working closely with Operational, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Hygiene teams. Responsibilities include auditing routine quality assurance testing, sampling, and calibration throughout manufacturing, ensuring adherence to internal schedules.
Hours:
Days, Monday to Friday, 8am-4.30pm, 37.5 hours per week.
Core Responsibilities:
* Audit pre-start activities such as line checklists, metal detector, checkweigher & Autocoding functionality, cleanliness standards, and checks for glass & hard plastics.
* Audit completion of tests like pH, allergen, ERH, weight control, calibration, and label/packaging compliance.
* Ensure routine sampling programs (micro, nutritional) are followed and corrective actions are implemented post-testing.
* Audit calibration and inspection of manufacturing equipment as scheduled.
* Conduct internal audits of site operations per the Quality Management System, including CCPs, allergens, hygiene, documentation, GMP, foreign bodies, glass, and PPE, and follow up on corrective actions.
* Audit daily product quality evaluations at start and end of life, recording and acting on results proactively.
* Escalate incidents related to food safety, quality, and legality, ensuring timely reporting and effective corrective actions.
* Address deviations from sampling and checking programs with the Technical and Shift Leads.
* Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance GMP standards and QMS compliance.
* Support external audits and customer visits, collaborating with the Technical team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience as a QA / Quality Auditor in food manufacturing, with strong knowledge of BRC & customer codes of practice. Candidates should hold Level 3 in Food Hygiene & HACCP and preferably have internal auditor training or certification.
