Overview
IT Technical Specialist (Applications Systems Analyst) at Abbott. Based in the UK IT team, Witney, Oxfordshire, providing third line IT support and leading projects, particularly in the local manufacturing area.
Responsibilities and Experience
In this role, you will play a key part in obtaining business critical requests and translating them into technical requirements through the provision of technical understanding, expertise and direction. You will act as the interface between all involved parties, coordinating activities and reviewing deliverables through to closure, whether you are involved in application system specification, development, testing or fault diagnosis & resolution.
You will also be accountable for escalation support for applications delivered and/or supported by the IT department and the interface to third party vendors or corporate IT support.
Preferred Skills
* Able to communicate effectively between technical and non-technical groups.
* Oracle & SQL intermediate level database administration.
* Power BI or other data analysis and presentation tools experience
* Highly adaptable and used to working in a 24/7, fast-paced, changing environment
* Fluent in use of Microsoft Co-Pilot and/or other Generative AI technology
* Comfortable with authoring documentation including Software Development Lifecycle
* Experience in supporting or administering one or more of the following would be advantageous: SQL & Oracle databases, POMSnet MES, Kepware, Bartender, OSI Pi, or Maximo
Qualifications / Experience
To be successful, you will be experienced working within an IT environment with a diverse application portfolio and contributing to a Software Development Lifecycle, ideally within a highly regulated environment. You will be efficient with documentation, comfortable leading projects, translating business requirements into technical requirements and communicating effectively between technical and non-technical groups. We’re looking for someone who is creative, influential, and excited about joining a team at the forefront of Diabetes Care innovation. The ideal candidate will be a versatile individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but interact on a wider business scale, liaising with stakeholders both in and out of function. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
