Service Charge Accountant - Borehamwood - £35,000 to £40,000 per annum My client are an independent property and estate management firm in Borehamwood with a client base in London, Hertfordshire and the North of England. They are currently seeking an experienced and professional Service Charge Accountant to become an integral part of their finance team of three and manage the service charge accounting processes of their portfolio. Key Responsibilities Programme and produce Service charge, Ground Rent, Insurance and Rent Demands. Preparation of Service Charge year/quarterly-end accounts within the specified timeframe and reviewing them with the Property Manager. Review and prepare Service Charge year end accounts up to trial balance in order to be sent out to external accountants. Regular liaison with the Property Manager. Run reports as necessary to assist the Property Manager. Responsibility for good all round management of Clients' accounts Dealing with customer queries verbally and in written form. Take ownership of the implementation process of new properties taken on. Undertake and review bank reconciliations within the required timeframe. Issuing of monthly / quarterly income and expenditure statements to Clients. Carrying out daily banking routine. Ad-hoc duties as required. Meeting deadlines set by the Business, your Line Manager and Clients. Monitoring your workload and creating diaries to keep on top of your workload. Being a point of contact for customer queries, escalating urgent matters to Line Manager if necessary. Handling queries from tenants and suppliers and all external agencies by telephone and in writing, in a professional, courteous and efficient manner. Person Specification At least two years' Service Charge experience Knowledge of property management principles and procedures. Good soft skills when dealing with people to empathise and understand the customers' needs. Working knowledge of a property management computer system e.g. Tramps or similar is preferable but not essential. Microsoft Office Good written and verbal communication skills. Well organised, able to multi-task. Team player. Other details Working hours: 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday Office based in Borehamwood, free parking nearby Holidays: 20 days plus 8 bank holidays.
