Working under the direct supervision of the Lead Practitioner Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Health Care Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Main duties of the job
This role involves a variety of important responsibilities, some key duties are as follows;
* New patient health checks
* Minor Op/ Coil booking and administration
* ECG recording
* Home Visits
* Dressing changes
* Dementia screening
* Administer vaccines as appropriate and where fully trained in line with practice protocol
* Clinical administration at the request of the GPs or team leaders
* Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GP/nurses
* Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
* Data entry to accurately reflect all patient contact on the clinical software
* Stocking all rooms and ordering of all sundries and clinical equipment
* Working to protocol
The role of Healthcare Assistant will demand a high level of clinical administration to support the GP and Nurse team within the practice. This should be managed electronically in line with protocols and risk should be managed and identified as stringently as any other within the practice. As a new HCA, you will be required to hold the Care Certificate which was first introduced in 2015 after the Cavendish Review identified the need to ensure that all care staff had a standardised approach to their training.

Qualifications
* Experience: HCA: 1 year (preferred)
