We are seeking a Senior Support Worker to join a 2-bed children’s residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and complex needs.
The Senior Support Worker will play a key role in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care, acting as a positive role model for young people and providing day-to-day leadership to the staff team. You will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes stability, resilience, and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent, person-centred care in line with care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies

Act as shift lead, offering guidance, supervision, and support to staff on duty
*
Build trusting, professional relationships with young people, promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
*
Safeguard young people and respond effectively to incidents, following policies and procedures
*
Support with care planning, key work sessions, record keeping, and report writing
*
Work in line with legislation, safeguarding standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with EBD and/or complex needs
*
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
*
Strong understanding of safeguarding, boundaries, and trauma-informed practice
*
Ability to work shifts, including sleep-ins
