SEN Teaching Assistant – Level 2 Location: Oldham Start Date: January 2026 Pay: £90.00 to £100.00 (PAYE, Experiance Dependant) We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to work in schools across Oldham, supporting children with Special Educational Needs from January 2026. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, both 1:1 and in small groups • Help remove barriers to learning using tailored strategies and interventions • Assist with the development and delivery of scaffolded learning resources • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion within the classroom • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and carers to support pupil progress Essential Requirements • A passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs • A strong understanding of barriers to learning faced by pupils with SEN and the ability to apply effective support strategies • Experience developing learning resources that scaffold and support learning • Awareness of child development and understanding of how children learn • Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age range • Excellent communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers • NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or relevant experience • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework • Completion of the Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (or willingness to complete within the first term) Why Apply? • Opportunity to work in supportive schools across Oldham • Make a meaningful impact on pupils with SEN • Ongoing support and professional development • Competitive pay based on experience Apply now, and get registered with Axcis over the Christmas Break!!
