Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Facilities Team conducts facilities and property administration, office planning, corporate leasing, and/or real estate coordination. They work closely and provide advice and counsel to company and/or vendor representatives, coordinating major facility constructions, modifications, leasing, and real estate activities.
Lead and carry out a wide range of assignments to maintain & improve the efficiency, quality, safety, and performance of site facilities, including onsite facility maintenance and management of external contractor safety & services. Create supporting facilities safety documentation, reporting, and provide training to ensure safe and successful facility implementations.
Provide day-to-day facilities & safety site support for teammates, check and plan maintenance programs, manage contractors, achieve environment cost savings, safety improvements, support site with any required pickups/local deliveries of site components, stocks, or sundries.
Assist with safety and environmental improvements on site while providing technical support in troubleshooting facility problems. Provide timely and efficient solutions for all areas of the site.
Tasks Summary and Responsibilities:
* Main responsibility is the planning, management & reporting of all site facilities maintenance, property inventory, and security support, ensuring local safety compliance and regulations.
* Create efficient and effective facilities programs for the company plant. Define parameters and processes for other facilities programs/improvements, ensuring safety and high standards.
* Provide advice and training to the site on any impacted improvements, initiatives, and proposals.
* Review and monitor contractor services and plan external maintenance to support in-house facilities management, including documentation such as risk assessments, certification checks, high-risk task reviews, and pre-job planning.
* Use facilities expertise to define, document, and ensure safe practices that are cost-effective, repeatable, and of high quality.
* Participate in the safety committee and work with production areas to achieve KPIs by attending daily meetings and providing facilities support to overcome challenges.
* Support stores & dispatch teams to achieve their KPIs by attending meetings and providing facilities support for component or delivery challenges.
* Manage the integration of new infrastructure changes and project activities with internal and external teams/contractors.
* Ensure facilities costs are accurately captured and maintained within budget.
* Investigate and initiate environmental improvement and cost-saving projects for the site.
* Collaborate with the Safety & Environmental teams on facilities works.
* Assist in rolling out TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements and Centers of Excellence (COE), utilizing Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs).
* Keep the site informed of technical developments and review operational methods.
* Observe and comply with health and safety regulations as per company procedures and government legislation.
* Perform any other reasonable tasks as directed by the business.
Knowledge & Skills:
Education: City & Guilds, HNC, or linked Safety IOSH, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance Engineering.
Experience:
* Maintenance & Safety Management of a manufacturing facility.
* Practical knowledge of using hand tools, maintenance processes, and related skills.
* Good IT management skills and reporting.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
* Compliance with safety standards for manufacturing facilities.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility problems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 software.
* Experience maintaining factory safety & facilities (electrical, plumbing, fixtures, fittings, etc.).
* Experience managing contractors with documented procedures, plans, and timely communication with landlords and TE.
* Identify and recommend new or improved facilities processes and technical developments for safety and environmental benefits.
* Use initiative to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
* Continuous improvement of facilities infrastructure, buildings, decorations, services, and supplies.
* Drive and passion to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work independently and creatively.
* Full clean driving license.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills:
* Experience with SAP or Sage systems.
* Project management skills for facility projects.
* Knowledge of environmental and health and safety principles used in UK factories.
