Job Description: SEND Teacher (Specialist School) Location: Specialist School, Northumberland Salary: £180 - £220 a day About the Role We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher to support Secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional learning needs. The role involves teaching and supporting pupils both in-centre and through outreach to mainstream settings, helping them engage positively with learning, develop self-regulation, and achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to SEND and SEMH pupils
* Plan and implement personalised learning strategies and interventions
* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
* Work collaboratively with support staff, SENDCo, and external agencies
* Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, and interventions
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Job Requirements
* Qualified teacher status (QTS)
* Experience teaching pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
* Strong behaviour management and restorative practice skills
* Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
