Job Purpose
Internal Job Title: Marketing Executive
Location: Remote working with a dedicated hub for collaborative team working and meetings. You can choose from: Milton Keynes, Birmingham or Hatton.
Working hours: 37 hours per week. 9:00 - 17:30 Monday to Thursday; 9:00 - 17:00, Friday.
We’re the UK’s largest canal charity, managing 2,000 miles of canals and rivers across England and Wales. Our mission is to keep the canal network open and vibrant, supporting wildlife, nature, heritage, and community access. We need your help to maintain our visual and verbal identity, ensuring it stays on brand and stands out.
The team you’ll be joining
We are a small, agile team collaborating across the organization to produce marketing and communication materials. We act as brand guardians, providing guidance, tools, and resources to ensure consistent communication of our visual and verbal identity.
Our team is dynamic, creative, and proactive, working to enhance our brand and adapt to our evolving strategy. We are reviewing our brand story, exploring new technologies, and working with design agencies. You should be adaptable to a fast-moving environment.
What you’ll be doing
You will support the brand manager and marketing services manager in managing the brand and delivering creative service excellence. Your tasks may include managing requests for marketing materials, briefing photographers and agencies, maintaining our image and film library, updating brand guidelines, and sourcing photography to drive cost efficiency.
As a Marketing Executive (Brand & Marketing Services), you will work collaboratively across the organization to support the delivery of marketing activities and manage the production of on-brand assets, imagery, templates, and materials.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
Key responsibilities:
* Maintain and update the image and film library for optimal searchability.
* Plan and coordinate photography shoots.
* Update and create digital and print templates for marketing materials.
* Edit documents using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
* Check design quality for brand consistency and accuracy.
* Brief design agencies, printers, photographers, and filmmakers, ensuring brand compliance.
* Manage production of marketing and fundraising materials across various campaigns.
* Handle brand inbox requests and administrative tasks like purchase orders and system access.
* Assist in preparing quarterly metrics reports.
* Promote brand best practices and support colleagues.
* Uphold the Trust’s values and promote diversity and inclusion.
About you
Technical skills:
* Experience in a similar creative marketing role within an agency or complex organization.
* Minimum two years’ experience in a creative marketing position.
* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
* Photography shoot experience is highly desirable.
General skills:
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Passion for brand marketing and high energy levels.
* Self-motivated, proactive, friendly, and confident personality.

Salary: £27,000 - £31,000, plus benefits including pension, holiday entitlement, and other perks detailed on our benefits page.
