Grounds Maintenance Team Leader
Location: Lancing, Sussex
Salary: £29,362 - £30,908 per year (based on performance after 12 months)
Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
Key responsibilities
* Provide supervisory support to keep estates well maintained and clean in accordance with grounds maintenance contract specifications and horticultural practices.
* Produce accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer; maintain accurate daily work records.
* Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, meet customer expectations and raise complaints as appropriate.
* Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and suitable for required tasks.
* Use equipment and materials safely in accordance with risk assessment, method statements and manufacturers’ guidance.
* Carry out hazardous tasks such as spraying in accordance with supplier guidelines and maintain relevant records to comply with health and safety and legal requirements.
Qualifications and experience
* Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Grade C GCSE in English and Maths.
* NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline.
* Valid Pesticide Application Certificate PA1 – PA6 (or equivalent).
* Experience supervising others.
* Recent experience in a similar role.
* Practical experience operating machinery.
* Proficiency in using and updating computerized systems (including PDA) for work scheduling.
* Valid full UK driving licence (required for company vehicle use).
