Overview
Trinity College Cambridge is seeking to recruit a part-qualified Assistant Accountant. You will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager, Finance Director and other Senior Accountants in producing financial reports throughout the year as well as statutory accounts. You will manage several of the College’s bank accounts, ensuring that payments and purchases are allocated correctly with a particular emphasis on funds and trust funds. Additionally you will liaise with, guide and support internal departments, Fellows, Committees and student societies advising on required financial information and accounting practices.
Responsibilities
* Support the Finance Manager, Finance Director and other Senior Accountants in producing regular financial reports and statutory accounts.
* Manage College bank accounts, ensuring correct allocation of payments and purchases, with emphasis on funds and trust funds.
* Liaise with and provide guidance to internal departments, Fellows, Committees and student societies on required financial information and accounting practices.
Qualifications
* Part-qualified/late finalist in an accounting qualification.
* Experience in an accounts-based role, including purchase ledger, cash book, reconciliations and journal entries.
* Knowledge/experience of accounting systems such as Oracle NetSuite is preferable or the ability to adapt to new systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of University/College accounts including trust funds, bursaries and student awards is desirable.
* Excel proficiency is essential, including formulae, pivot tables and spreadsheet formatting.
* Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to professional accounting standards.
* The College supports ongoing training and development to progress professional qualifications.

* Salary in the range of £36,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualification progress.
