Job description

About the team:

In Colleague Success, we are enthusiastic about making every day easier for colleagues across Lloyds Banking Group.

The team currently brings together a broad range of skills and specialisms covering Recruitment Operations, Colleague Policy & Vetting, Employee Relations, Learning Operations, Payroll Operations & Delivery, and the delivery, change and run of the technology supporting our People function, including generative AI and automation.

Within the function, we are setting up a brand-new team to drive meaningful, measurable change across Colleague Success and wider People & Places (P&P) most critical processes.

In the past five months, we have teamed up with an external partner to redesign key people processes and are now collaborating with the Platform on their implementation. Building on this momentum, we are building a team with expertise in process optimisation, HR operations, tech and automation, market insights, and change management. It’s a dynamic, fun, and supportive environment to be a part of, operating in an agile, data-driven, and cross-functional manner to enhance efficiency, boost productivity, and elevate the colleague experience.

About the role:

The Process Optimisation Assistant Manager will work directly with the Optimisation Manager and Optimisation Enablement Lead to support the optimisation agenda, contributing to a diverse portfolio of initiatives relating to Colleague Success and wider P&P.

The role will be varied, no two days will be the same, and you’ll be concurrently delivering across a range of responsibilities including:
* Process Redesign: Assisting in identifying inefficiencies in current processes and redesigning them using internal SCALE methodology and automation techniques. This includes supporting the mapping of current processes, identifying bottlenecks and waste, and developing future state processes that leverage the latest tech and best practices.
* Automation: Translating business problems into automation opportunities, by supporting the scoping and design activity to deliver AI-enabled solutions to optimise HR operational processes
* Market Research: Supporting in conducting market research by gathering and analysing data on industry trends and competitor strategies. Help identify best practices and innovative solutions that can be adapted to improve our processes.
* Data Analysis: Analysing large data sets by extracting relevant information, identifying patterns, and generating insights to inform decision-making. Use analytical tools and techniques to interpret complex data and support the development of data-driven strategies.
* Framework Development: Supporting development and creation of frameworks, templates, and guidelines to ensure consistency in optimisation initiatives.
* Workshop Support and Coordination: Assist in workshops by capturing detailed notes, facilitating key discussions, and updating process flows in real-time.
* Documenting Outcomes: Prepare comprehensive documentation of workshop outcomes, including updated process flows, agreed-upon changes, and next steps. Ensure that all stakeholders have access to this information for ongoing reference and implementation.
* Transition Planning and Communication Support: Assist in coordinating activities, tracking progress, and managing timelines. Facilitate clear communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned during the implementation of process changes.

Key Skills Required:

And you’ll possess the following super strengths:
* Process Optimisation Expertise: A good understanding of optimisation methodologies to redesign HR processes. Experience with methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Design Thinking is desirable.
* HR Operational Awareness: Basic understanding and awareness of HR workflows, policies, and service delivery models. Ability to navigate HR environments and understand the intricacies of HR operations.
* Tech and Automation Awareness: Eagerness to learn about emerging HR technologies, such as GenAI and Agentic AI, with a willingness to upskill and experiment. Familiarity with tools such as Workday, ServiceNow, and data analytics platforms is a plus.
* Market Insight and Curiosity: Ability to conduct research and stay updated with industry trends. Confidence to connect with professionals and build a network for valuable insights to drive innovative solutions.
