Role: Registered Building Inspector
Salary: £49,277 - £55,681 (inclusive of £8,500 market supplement) + other benefits and additional out of hours allowance payments of approx. £3,261.60 per year.
Join the Rochdale Building Control team as a Registered Building Inspector, with an exciting opportunity to work towards class 3 registration status. You will be part of a professional team recognised for excellence, delivering high-quality services to a strong public and private client base across the borough and beyond.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team of Registered Building Inspectors and dedicated technical support staff with a focus on delivering high‑quality building control services.
* Undertake out of hours dangerous building work on a rota basis, with an additional allowance and overtime if called out.
* Progress towards class 3 registration through supervised and shadowed work on high‑risk buildings.
* Engage with digital transformation initiatives and contribute to developing new ways of working within the Building Control service.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experienced Class 2 A-F Registered Building Inspector.
* Ability to demonstrate strong technical skills and commercial customer focus.
* Willingness to undertake out of hours work on a rota basis.
* Support to progress to class 3 registration within a well‑resourced team (including 3 Class 3 Specialist inspectors).
