Position: Sous Chef
We are looking for a confident and capable Sous Chef to join our growing kitchen team at the Marine Hotel, a 53‑bedroom coastal hotel located on the Paignton seafront.
As a key member of the kitchen, you will support the Head Chef in leading the team, driving standards, and delivering consistent quality. Your day-to-day duties will include cooking food in a timely manner using different methods, ensuring all food is of excellent quality, cleaning and sanitising preparation areas, presenting appealing plates, and coaching and developing other team members.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF AT OUR HOTEL
* Cooking food in a timely manner using different methods and techniques
* Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality
* Cleaning and sanitising all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene
* Ensuring appealing plate presentation
* Coaching and developing other team members
What We Need From You
* Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards – advantageous
* Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award – advantageous
* Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role – Chefs de Partie welcome!
* Strong communicator with a friendly and pleasant personality
* Excellent people skills with the ability to engage with staff
