Interim Assistant Head Teacher SEN School - Secondary & Post-16 Location: Kingston upon Thames, London Contract: Interim, Full-Time We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Interim Assistant Head Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Kingston upon Thames, supporting learners across Secondary and Post-16 provision. This is a pivotal senior leadership role for an experienced professional who can work flexibly and confidently within a Senior Leadership Team (SLT), while holding overarching responsibility for Secondary and Post-16. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational support to the SLT Lead and oversee Secondary and Post-16 provision Responsibility for curriculum development and delivery Manage and maintain accreditations and qualifications Oversee work experience programmes and external partnerships Lead on and attend school residentials Teach approximately 2 days per week, as required Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and outcomes for students with SEN The Ideal Candidate Will: Have significant leadership experience within SEN and/or specialist education Demonstrate strong knowledge of Secondary and Post-16 curriculum pathways Be highly organised, flexible, and confident managing multiple priorities Have experience with accreditations, work experience, and transitional pathways Be a collaborative leader with a child-centred, inclusive approach Be willing and able to attend school residentials This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN leader looking to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and forward-thinking school community.
