Role Overview We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain both cloud-based and on-premise systems across a multi-site organisation. This role ensures the ongoing performance, stability, and security of IT infrastructure, covering areas such as networking, cybersecurity, server maintenance, disaster recovery, and third-line support. You will collaborate closely with the infrastructure team to deliver improvements, provide technical expertise, and contribute to broader IT initiatives. This hybrid role will involve travel across multiple sites, with the primary base in Newry. Key Responsibilities Maintain and support infrastructure across cloud (e.g., Azure) and on-premise environments (e.g., Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Citrix). Troubleshoot and manage networking issues, including VPNs, SD-WAN, routers, and firewalls. Deliver Level 3 technical support for complex IT issues relating to infrastructure and security. Oversee and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. Implement cybersecurity controls including firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability assessments. Manage server patching, backups, and updates to ensure uptime and compliance. Collaborate with ERP and database teams to ensure system integration and performance. Participate in infrastructure-related projects, such as migrations and upgrades. Maintain documentation for IT systems, policies, and procedures. Assist with vendor management and procurement for infrastructure-related services and hardware. Required Qualifications & Skills Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar infrastructure, systems, or network engineering role. Strong technical skills in Microsoft technologies including Azure, Windows Server, M365, Active Directory, and Hyper-V. Hands-on experience with networking and security technologies (e.g., SonicWall, Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki). Understanding of remote access solutions such as Citrix or Remote Desktop Services. Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and best practices. Experience in backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability environments. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Industry certifications (such as CCNA, MCSE, Azure, CISSP) are beneficial. Must have the legal right to work in the UK or Ireland.
