Store Assistant Manager
Salary: £26,229 per annum FTE (£15,300 pro‑ratio). Employment Terms: Permanent, 21 hours per week, Monday‑Sunday based on a 7‑day rota. Location: West Wickham.
Responsibilities
You’ll be reporting into the Store Manager and taking on tasks allocated by them. You'll take on leadership duties when they are absent, running the store and managing opening and closing responsibilities. You’ll oversee all areas of our stock journey—from sorting, pricing, displaying donations to making a sale. The role is varied; each day offers different tasks and new items to handle.
This is a management position that includes supervising a team of extraordinary volunteers. Your job is to create a welcoming environment for everyone while ensuring the store runs smoothly.
Qualifications and Experience
* Good experience in a busy, hands‑on environment where you are used to getting things done at pace.
* Experience in a customer‑facing environment where you’ve delivered great customer service throughout your working day.
* Retail experience is desirable but not essential.
* Management or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
* Great people skills and the ability to lead and supervise a group of superstar volunteers.
* Ability to problem‑solve and work under pressure while being self‑motivated and driven.
