Facilities Supervisor
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of warehouse and office facilities within a fast‑paced logistics environment. This role oversees maintenance activities, manages contractors, and leads on‑site teams to support business continuity and operational excellence.
What you will be doing
Facilities & Building Maintenance
* Lead day‑to‑day maintenance operations across warehouse and office facilities.
* Ensure building fabric (floors, walls, roofing, docks, doors, etc.) is maintained to a high standard.
* Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works via the Planon system.
Equipment & Infrastructure
* Oversee maintenance of critical infrastructure, including dock levellers, roller doors, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
* Coordinate specialist contractors for servicing and statutory inspections.
* Minimise operational disruption during maintenance activity.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and internal standards.
* Maintain statutory inspection records (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, lifts).
* Conduct regular site inspections and manage permit‑to‑work processes.
* Oversee waste management suppliers and contractor inductions.
Contractor, Budget & Team Management
* Manage external contractors and suppliers through Planon, ensuring value for money and service quality.
* Identify cost‑saving opportunities and approve invoices.
* Supervise on‑site maintenance staff, reception, and cleaning teams, providing guidance and workload planning.
Documentation & Audit
* Maintain accurate, audit‑ready maintenance records.
* Support internal and external audits as required.
About You
* Previous experience in facilities or maintenance supervision.
* Proven contractor management experience.
* Strong technical knowledge of facilities and building maintenance.
* Sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
* Health & Safety qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH desirable).
* Experience within a warehouse or logistics environment (preferred).
* Organised, solutions‑focused, and able to manage multiple priorities.
* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
* Proactive and hands‑on leadership style.
* Detail‑oriented with strong commercial awareness.
* Calm, resilient, and effective under pressure.
