You will be joining an existing driver pool as a bus driver for a large department in Edinburgh. Due to an increase in routes and a shortage of drivers, you will be working full-time hours with adequate downtime at the depot.
Your new role
You will be required to undertake the duties below:
1. Drive a 22-seat bus to transport individuals to and from care facilities, appointments, andmunity activities.
2. Provide physical assistance to those with mobility challenges, including operating lifts or ramps.
3. Secure wheelchairs, fasten seatbelts, and monitor passenger well-being throughout the journey
4. Adhere to planned routes and maintain punctuality for pickups and drop-offs.
5. Keep the vehicle clean and sanitised, especially high-touch areas, to ensure a safe environment.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a qualified category D bus driver with zero/minimal points and endorsements on your licence and ideally with experience working in a social care environment. We will need you to be at the depot for an early start each day, with plenty of on-site parking for your own transport.

You will be offered a long-term contract with one of the largest employers in Edinburgh. Hays will pay you weekly PAYE with the option of accrued annual leave. You will be required toplete a PVG Scotland Check which Hays willplete on your behalf.
