Advance Automated Systems is a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, and installation of conveyor and automated systems. With continued growth, we are seeking skilled Mechanical Assembly Engineers to join our team at our Newton Aycliffe facility.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Assembly Engineer, you will be responsible for the assembly of high-quality conveyor systems and automated machinery. Working from technical drawings and specifications, you will play a hands-on role in building, fitting, and preparing equipment for installation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills who enjoys problem-solving and working as part of a team in a busy engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical assembly of conveyors and machinery in accordance with engineering drawings
* Installation and fitting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Installation of cable management systems
* Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
* Working to deadlines while maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
* Collaborating with supervisors, engineers, and colleagues to ensure smooth production flow
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong practical skills in mechanical fitting and assembly
* Good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and cable management (advantageous)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
* Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality
