DMW Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our engineering client for a permanent Maintenance Technician to join the team in Middlesbrough.
The ideal candidate will have a maintenance technician background within the chemical/petrochem or O&G sectors, have strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as being familiar with working on computers.
You'll either have a mechanical fitting background or be able to demonstrate strong mechanical skills along with instrument or electrical trade background.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow permit-to-work, isolation procedures, and complete relevant risk assessments.
*
Identify and rectify equipment faults and service failures related to your trade.
*
Perform scheduled maintenance in line with the company’s maintenance plan.
*
Work to company standards to minimise production impact and maximise plant uptime.
*
Review and update maintenance procedures for accuracy and relevance.
*
Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety, equipment availability, and efficiency.
*
Carry out additional duties within your skill level as required.
SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality):
*
Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with EHS requirements.
*
Work safely and follow company health & safety guidelines.
*
Deliver high-quality work to reduce rework and ensure first-time fixes.
*
Report accidents or near misses in line with company policy.
Equipment Management:
*
Conduct fault finding and support improvements to prevent repeat failures.
Performance & Team Support:
*
Contribute to KPIs like schedule adherence, first-time fix rate, and mean time to repair.
Communication:
*
Liaise effectively with production teams.
*
Provide technical input and maintenance updates during meetings and calls
