We Are
We are a multi- disciplinary team providing a supportive, advisory, educational and evidence based care & treatments to women with a range of urogynecology conditions.
As an integral team member you will participate in the development of this service & develop current nursing practice according to patient need.
Appropriate teaching, training & on-going support will enable you to improve our patients experience throughout their care pathway.
The successful applicant will be based within the Gynaecology Out-Patient Department in the Jessop Hospital Wing.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.
Main duties of the job
The Uro-Gynaecology Nurse Specialist provides expert, patient-centred care for women with lower urinary tract dysfunction. You’ll manage your own caseload, deliver advanced clinical assessments, and offer specialist advice, education, and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
As part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, you’ll help shape high-quality services, lead on policy development, and drive innovation in line with Trust values. You will support service leadership, champion patient safety and governance, and role model compassionate, evidence-based practice.
The role also offers the chance to influence education and research - through teaching, mentorship, service development, and audit - while continuing to grow your own specialist expertise and leadership skills.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. RGN Level One
2. NMC Registered
3. To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
4. Continuous professional development
5. First degree or evidence of working towards one (demonstrating graduate attributes)
Desirable criteria
6. Completion of STHFT Bladder Management Open Learning Programme
7. Recognised Management & Leadership Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
8. Extensive post registration experience in an acute clinical environment
9. Experience of service improvement and change management experience
10. Ability to lead, motivate and develop a professional team
11. Ability to prioritise own workload and work as a team member
Desirable criteria
12. Has knowledge and understanding of uro-gynaecology conditions and management
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
13. Experience in caring for patients with complex medical conditions
14. Ability to communicate effectively including active listening, writing, and verbally, with individuals on a one-to-one basis and with groups.
15. Good understanding of the national strategic context of the NHS
16. Excellent performance management skills.
