GE Vernova would like to recruit a Project Engineer to work in our Grid Solutions business from our Stafford office.
The successful candidate will support the project control activity and drive consistent functional specifications and common processes for projects implementation. You will lead activities that are conducted to better understand or ultimately meet the expectations of the customer and impacts departmental operations while being responsible for planning/execution. #
The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance and support from others.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Serves as a technical support to help develop a scope of work and plan schedule and monitor engineering activities for customer projects. Provide technical inputs and interfaces with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.
* Developing knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and training to support the execution of policy/strategy.
* Must have an understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Also has an understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
* Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
* Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to develop their technical expertise further.
Required Qualifications:
* Engineering degree level or equivalent education
* Experience of Engineering activities as an engineer in EPC type environment.
* Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary team's context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries
