This is a fantastic chance to join a growing used car business at an early stage of its journey and play a key role in shaping its stock acquisition strategy. Working hours are based on a 40-hour week , however flexibility is required as occasional weekend work may be involved when attending vehicle auctions and industry events. A competitive salary is on offer, ranging from £40,000 - £45,000 , depending on experience. Job Duties Include: Sourcing and purchasing quality used vehicles from auctions, trade contacts, and private sellers Building and maintaining strong relationships with auction houses, dealers, and suppliers Assessing vehicle values, market trends, and stock requirements to maximise profitability Negotiating purchase prices and securing the best possible deals for the business Attending physical and online vehicle auctions, including occasional weekend events Conducting vehicle appraisals and inspections to ensure stock meets company standards Working closely with management to develop and implement stock acquisition strategies Monitoring market activity and identifying opportunities to acquire desirable stock quickly Ensuring all purchased vehicles are accurately documented and processed efficiently Supporting the growth of the business through proactive sourcing and new supplier development Requirements: Previous experience within a Car Buyer, Vehicle Buyer, Used Car Buyer, or similar automotive purchasing role is essential Strong knowledge of the used car market, vehicle valuations, and auction processes Proven negotiation skills with the ability to secure profitable deals Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of automotive market trends Strong relationship-building and communication skills Full UK Driving Licence required Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment Good attention to detail and organisational skills Reasons to Apply: Opportunity to join an exciting new business from the ground up Significant influence on stock purchasing and business growth Career progression opportunities as the company expands Dynamic and entrepreneurial working environment Be part of a passionate team focused on building a successful used car operation This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional looking to make a real impact within a growing used car business.
