The Music School of Douglas Academy, established in 1979 as a national centre of excellence, offers high-quality tuition in various musical styles to pupils of secondary school age. Applications are received from across Scotland and beyond, with lessons provided in a modern school building equipped with specialist rooms.
You will be required to:
1. Have experience teaching gifted students to a high level.
2. Teach students assigned by the Course Director.
3. Prepare appropriately for weekly lessons.
4. Assess, record, and report on students' work.
5. Accompany and coach students up to diploma level and beyond.
6. Lead performance classes when required.
7. Play for concerts and extra engagements as required.
8. Encourage students to reach their full potential.
9. Ensure students have an effective work regime.
10. Be aware of students’ general musical and educational requirements.
11. Prepare students for internal assessments, external examinations, recitals, and auditions as appropriate.
