MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support members of the Executive Office at the Cathedral.
* Manage phone calls, correspondence, diary management and all ad-hoc administrative tasks in a professional manner.
* Organise and book staff training.
* Set up and arrange meetings, to include room preparation and refreshment provision.
* Support with travel arrangement bookings
* Support the Cathedral Clergy Team with administrative tasks, as required.
* Attend to the needs of, and make welcome, Cathedral office visitors.
* Undertake and assist with projects, as necessary.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
* Good proven IT (Microsoft 365/SharePoint) and administrative skills.
* Proven ability to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team and under own initiative.
* Good proven organisational, planning and communication skills.
* Proactive and adaptable approach to working in a highly complex and busy Cathedral.
* Flexible attitude and willingness to take on a range of duties, including working alone and under pressure.
* Have an open and welcoming attitude to all, including volunteers and members of the general public.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
* Proofreading abilities.
* A keen interest in Cathedrals' as a place to enrich the lives of people from all backgrounds.
* Previous experience working within a Cathedral or church office.
* Empathy with the beliefs and values of the Christian Faith and the aims and objectives of the Church of England.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular warmth, tact, diplomacy, discretion,
and imagination.
* Committed to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
